Home: Welcome

Our story start about 10 years ago.  A year after we got married we started trying to have kids. We have always known we wanted children, little did we know it was going to take us on an exciting emotional journey.  There was ups and downs during this time mostly downs. Month after month with negative tests, watching friends and family grow their families.  We  were always happy for them but privately it was a hard and difficulty time. During this time we grew closer together as we tried to navigate this difficult road. Doctor appointment after doctor appointment to try and figure out was going on . May of 2015 Karen had her first surgery for endometriosis which at the time the doctor believed was the cause of infertility.  We had high hopes that this would be the answer. Once again month after month with no luck.  June of 2016 Karen once again underwent surgery for endometriosis. We once again came out of the surgery with high hopes.  Once again no luck.  In March of 2020 we started seeing a infertility doctor, which during the time of Covid was hard in itself Michael could not come to appointments with Karen. The doctor had high hopes. So in June of 2020 we started fertility treatment. Once a month Karen was given a shot to help trigger her body to drop her eggs.  But once again month after month of this there was no luck. In September of 2020 after one of these treatments Karen ended up in  the hospital. After that stay we decided to take a break from treatment for a couple of months. While on this break Mike and Karen started exploring adoption. Also  during that time Karen was having a lot of pain and was becoming sick often. After many trips to the doctor for this and many tests we learn that Karen needed a hysterectomy. The Doctors came to the conclusion that Karen wasn't getting pregnant because her body was rejecting it due to the fact it was trying to kill her. After finding  this out and knowing in our hearts we still wanted a family, we knew adoption was a amazing opportunity for us. So we started doing research and making calls to find out more about adoption. In February of 2020 Karen under went her surgery and had a hysterectomy. That same month we started our adoption journey.  We are happy to say that as of November 2022 we are in the book. Which means now birth mothers can learn about us and if they want to learn more about us they can reach out to us.  We Are very exited about this journey and every thing we have learned along the way and what we are still going to learn.
